Educating families so they’re prepared for the future
What makes ICCF unique is its strong educational component.  We don’t just help families find a home, we make sure they know how to take care of their home so they can enjoy it for many years. This will help them become stable members of the community.
In the same way that an education prepares students for their future, we prepare families by providing them with housing education. Our strong emphasis on education makes ICCF a great organization where students and teachers can be involved.

Volunteer
Give your time and talents to help families at ICCF. We can use your help and we’ll find a volunteer opportunity that fits your abilities – it could be for carpentry students, teachers or an entire class. We offer volunteer options that range from assisting with home construction to helping kids with a craft. See what other volunteer opportunities are available.

Consider volunteering with ICCF to make a difference for those living in our community.

Sponsor a home
Some schools have sponsored a home as a class project.  Students and teachers worked together to raise money and volunteer with the home construction from start to finish.

In 2007, Calvin Christian High School’s senior class helped ICCF with the construction, fundraising and marketing of a newly built home. The students raised over $30,000 in cash contributions and $30,000 worth of donated material and labor from individuals and businesses for the home they sponsored. This opportunity created lasting memories for the students, their parents, teachers, ICCF and the family who moved into a brand new home. Consider taking advantage of this opportunity!

Partnership
ICCF has worked with schools that have provided specific services to our organization. We’ve had construction classes prefabricate walls offsite and assemble them on location to expedite the construction process.

Do you have a way your school can help? Maybe your art or woodshop class can donate a piece to a family when they move into their home. Social work students can assist ICCF staff who works directly with families. Select a group of students and teachers who can prepare a mailing, provide childcare or help plan an event for ICCF Family Haven. Be creative!

Contact ICCF to let us know how you would like to be involved with helping local families.

Donate
Consider hosting a food drive, pop can rally or other fundraiser to help support ICCF. Whether you’re able to supply items from our needs list, donate specialized services or support ICCF financially. It will help local families as we build more stable communities.
